Mayra+ ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (mayraplus.com).

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and encrypted password.

Health & Wellness Data: Information you voluntarily provide during check-ins, including postpartum stage, breastfeeding status, dietary preferences, hunger levels, weight entries, and wellness goals. This data is used solely to provide personalized guidance.

Chat Data: Messages you send to the Mayra+ AI assistant are processed to generate responses. Chat history is stored locally on your device and is not permanently stored on our servers.

Payment Information: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your credit card number. We only receive confirmation of subscription status from Stripe.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide personalized postpartum nutrition and wellness guidance
To generate AI-powered meal plans and recommendations
To track your weight and wellness progress
To send password reset emails when requested
To process subscription payments via Stripe
To send important service notifications (e.g., trial expiry)

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

Stripe: For secure payment processing
Anthropic (Claude AI): Your chat messages are sent to Anthropic's API to generate AI responses. Anthropic does not use this data for training. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
Resend: For sending transactional emails (password resets only). See Resend's privacy policy.
Legal requirements: If required by law or legal process

4. Data Storage & Security

Your account data is stored on secure servers. Passwords are encrypted using bcrypt hashing and are never stored in plain text. All data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.

Health and wellness check-in data, chat messages, and weight history are stored locally on your device using browser storage. If you clear your browser data, this information will be lost.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data — view it in the app's Profile section
Delete your account — contact us at hello.mayraplus@gmail.com
Export your data — contact us and we will provide your data
Opt out of emails — password reset emails are transactional only
Cancel your subscription — directly in the app or via Stripe

6. Children's Privacy

Mayra+ is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Not Medical Advice

Mayra+ provides general wellness and nutrition information. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult your healthcare provider before making changes to your diet or exercise routine, especially postpartum or while breastfeeding.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your data within 30 days. Chat and check-in data stored locally on your device is under your control.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
